Car servicing workshops in Singapore

90 workshops in the directory where the business name or customers' public reviews mention car servicing work. Oil, filters and the checks that keep a car out of trouble.

A routine service is the oil and filter change plus a set of checks on brakes, tyres, fluids and belts. The common Singapore interval for the oil change is every 10,000 km or six months, whichever comes first (SingSaver). Independent workshops do the same work as dealer service centres, usually for less, and since 2017 dealers cannot void a warranty simply because an independent workshop serviced the car (CCCS).

What it costs

Published Singapore ranges for a minor service at an independent workshop sit around S$100 to S$200, with authorised dealers higher (MoneySmart). Torque cites an average of about S$188 for a regular service and about S$425 for a major one (Torque). Continental cars and dealer packages cost more; ask for an itemised quote.

Signs you need it

  • The service sticker or app says the mileage or six months is up
  • Oil looks dark on the dipstick or is below the mark
  • A service reminder light is on
  • You are about to go for inspection and want it checked first

What to ask the workshop

  • Is the quote itemised, with parts and labour shown separately?
  • Does the price include GST?
  • Which oil grade and filter brand will you use, and does it meet the manufacturer's spec?
  • Will you stamp the service book or give a dated invoice for warranty records?

Car servicing: questions

Will servicing at an independent workshop void my car warranty?

Not by itself. After the 2017 CCCS car parts inquiry, major dealers amended their terms so a claim cannot be rejected solely because a third-party workshop serviced the car. Dealers can still reject a claim for a defect the third-party work caused, so keep dated invoices and use parts that meet spec.

How often should I service my car in Singapore?

A common rule is the oil and filter change every 10,000 km or six months, whichever comes first. Your owner's manual has the exact schedule for your model.

What is the difference between a minor and a major service?

A minor service is the oil and filter change plus basic checks. A major service adds items such as spark plugs, air and cabin filters and fluid changes at set mileages, which is why it costs more.
